Infant & Child Development Services in San Diego and Riverside Counties, CA

If your baby or toddler is not meeting developmental milestones, or you’ve been told they may be at risk for delays, it can be hard to know what to do next. Infant & Child Development Services are designed to give you clear direction, practical support, and the tools to help your child grow with confidence during their earliest years.

Our Early Intervention Specialists work with you in your home to help your child build essential skills through play, routines, and daily life so you can support their development every day.

What Are Infant & Child Development Services?

Infant & Child Development Services are part of California’s Early Start program for children from birth to age 3 who have, or may be at risk for, developmental delays. These services are provided in your child’s natural environment, most often in your home.

Sessions are play-based and built around your child’s daily routines. Instead of working in a clinic setting, your specialist uses the toys, activities, and moments you already have at home to help your child learn and grow. Just as important, we work with you. You will learn simple, effective strategies you can use throughout your day, so your child continues to build skills between sessions.

These services are fully funded through California’s regional centers. Radiant Kids Therapy is a contracted provider with the San Diego Regional Center (SDRC) and Inland Regional Center (IRC).

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a doctor’s referral to get started?

No! You can contact your local Regional Center directly to request an evaluation for your child. A doctor’s referral is not required to begin the process.

Your child may still qualify. Many children are eligible because they are considered “at risk” for developmental delays, such as those born prematurely or with other risk factors.

Not exactly. Infant & Child Development Services focus on the whole child and support development across multiple areas. This service often works alongside speech, occupational, or physical therapy by helping you practice those goals during your daily routines at home.

To get started, you will need to contact your local Regional Center to request an evaluation through California’s Early Start program. The Regional Center will guide you through the next steps and help determine if your child qualifies for services.

Yes! If your child is found eligible, you have a say in who provides your services. During your planning meeting, you can request Radiant Kids Therapy as your provider. If we have availability in your area, the Regional Center will send us the authorization, and our team will reach out to schedule your first visit.
