Executive Director, Speech-Language Pathologist
Originally from Davis, CA, Laura holds a B.A. in Child and Family Psychology (Azusa Pacific University) and an M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology (University of the Pacific). After college and before graduate school, Laura taught private piano and voice lessons, and worked as a behavioral therapist and instructional aide for children with moderate/severe Autism Spectrum Disorder. It was in the midst of her work with children with special needs that she crossed paths with some Speech-Language Pathologists who inspired her to make a career change. Laura now has several years of experience as a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and has worked in a variety of settings, including public schools, private clinic and in-home (the latter of which is, by far, her favorite setting). In these, she has had the privilege of working with hundreds of families with children spanning a wide range of ages, from toddlers through teenagers. Laura has significant experience treating children with a variety of needs, such as: early speech and language delay, cognitive delays, ASD, articulation and phonology, language disorders (semantics, syntax and morphology, pragmatics), and more. She is continually grateful to be in such a meaningful, rewarding career and to have the opportunity to work with so many wonderful families. In addition to her roles as Executive Director, Speech-Language Pathologist and the many other hats she wears, Laura feels grateful and blessed to be married to her wonderful husband with two active, sweet young kids at home: a 3 year-old son and 1 year-old daughter.
