Gina W.

Speech-Language Pathologist

Gina holds her B.S. degree in Psychology and Early Childhood Education from Tulane University and an M.S. in Communication Disorders and Sciences and Early Intervention from the University of Oregon. Gina has 24 years of experience as a speech language pathologist working with children aged 18 months to 22 years old. For the first 10 years of her career, Gina led a multi-disciplinary team of professionals in a classroom for students with orthopedic impairments. There she developed a passion for working with students with complex communication needs including students who used augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems. She also conducted in-home therapy for young students and provided a range of early intervention services for young children in rural communities. In 2005, Gina began working with students in elementary and middle schools with a wide range of needs. During this time she has continued to fuel her passion for working with children with more complex needs, including students with autism. Two years ago Gina moved to the San Diego area with her family where she works in an elementary school and continues her love of working with beginning communicators in early intervention.
