Athena
Clinical Manager/Lead Physical Therapist
Athena graduated from San Diego State University where she earned her Bachelors in Kinesiology in 2011. She completed her massage therapy and holistic health practitioner certification shortly after her undergraduate. After working for a few years, she applied and was accepted to the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, where she earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy and graduated in 2016.
Athena is a big kid at heart and loves working with children in any capacity. Whether it is helping the children she treats achieve their gross motor potential through meaningful play or throwing dance parties and sing-a-longs as part of her sessions, she loves finding new ways to interact and play with purpose.
She has studied neurodevelopmental and orthopedic treatment techniques and is passionate about treating movement disorders by addressing the body as a whole. In 2020, Athena earned her Board-Certification as a Specialist in Pediatric Physical Therapy through the American Physical Therapy Association.
Athena is a North County SD native and when she isn’t working can be found hanging out with her obnoxiously large Italian and Greek family. She enjoys cooking and baking, crafting and spending time with her husband, Brian, their son and their multiple cats and dogs.
